Hammer Strength has been building athletes for more than 25 years. Not just elite athletes, but those with the focus and determination to want to train like one.

It is rugged performance strength training equipment that takes what athletes dish out and helps exercisers get to where they strive to be. Hammer Strength moves the way the body is meant to move and rewards hard work with results. Results that elite athletes have been relying on for nearly three decades.

Gary Jones was intent on improving strength training when he created Hammer Strength in 1989. Jones did that and then some. With his own ingenuity and input from the Cincinnati Bengals, he designed and constructed machines with biomechanics in mind—machines that move the same way that the body does.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that teaches a smaller person how to defend himself against a larger adversary by using leverage and proper technique. The Gracie family, the founders of BJJ, modified judo and traditional Japanese jujutsu to create the art.

We are proud to be High Wycombe's base for Kevin Capel BJJ and his Roger Gracie Academy (RGA). The aim of RGA Bucks is to promote the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lifestyle and excellent ground fighting skills, coupled with superior conditioning to deal with the rigours of sparring and competition.

Kevin and his team promote a friendly training environment that suits serious competitors or recreational martial artists alike.

Students are taught skills and qualities needed to teach other students and to lead their peers throught all skills necessary to pass their next belt rank. This encompasses being a positive role model, being polite and courteous, time keeping, lesson planning and how to make it all fun!

For the children beetwen age 3-5 years. Emphasis on developing self control, concentration and self-discipline, as well as having great fun!

Martial arts

Novice 6-8 years, advanced 9-12 years. The martial arts are a wonderful activity for developing both children and pree-teens. With the emphasis on discipline and courtesy, we help our students to develop self-confidence and character by providing the necessery skills to stand up peer pressure and other intimidating situations.

Junior MMA

A modern combat sport taught in an enjoyable and safe way, combining an exciting blend of techniques and training. Methods from many different combat arts. As well as learning to strike and kick, you will be taught takedowns, trips and throws, as well as pins, sweeps and locks.
